Abstract

            We derive a generic hierarchical level-changing technique from examination of self-organization, structural dynamics and emergence. Effects of the inadvertent imposition of extra-systemic capabilities on the observation of emergence are discussed. We propose a diffusely-rational recursive Dempster-Shafer-probability model for inter-hierarchical-level complex regions, and describe its implications. A possible distinction between living and Alife systems is suggested.
